Special purpose examination.

(1) The commission may require an applicant or licensee to pass the Special Purpose Examination (SPEX) or any other examination deemed appropriate. An applicant or licensee may be required to take an examination when the commission has concerns with the applicant's or licensee's ability to practice competently for reasons which may include, but are not limited to, the following:
(a) Resolved or pending malpractice suits;
(b) Pending action by another state licensing authority;
(c) Actions pertaining to privileges at any institution; or
(d) Not having practiced for an interval of time.
(2) The minimum passing score on the SPEX examination shall be seventy-five. The passing score for any other examination under this rule shall be determined by the commission.
