Preliminary Multiyear Chemical Action Plan Schedule

The department of ecology's solid waste and financial assistance program is seeking public comment on its preliminary multiyear chemical action plan schedule, which was prepared in accordance with the persistent bioaccumulative toxins regulation (WAC 173-333-410). The document identifies the persistent bioaccumulative toxins (PBTs) for which ecology will develop chemical action plans (CAPs), a rationale for ecology's selections, and the timeline for development through 2010.

The preliminary multiyear chemical action plan schedule is available for sixty days of public review and comment. The comment period ends on November 20, 2006. Comments on the preliminary multiyear schedule may be submitted to ecology via United States mail, e-mail or facsimile. All comments must be received by 5:00 p.m., November 20, 2006, in order to be given consideration.

Comments should be submitted to Mike Gallagher, PBT Coordinator, Solid Waste and Financial Assistance Program, Department of Ecology, P.O. Box 47600, Olympia, WA 98504-7600, phone (360) 407-6868, fax (360) 407-6884, e-mail MGAL461@ecy.wa.gov.

Ecology will review all public comments and notify the public of the final decision through an announcement published in the Washington State Register and through a posting on the ecology PBT web site. Written notification will also be provided to all individuals or organizations who submitted comments on the preliminary multiyear schedule.
