Prevailing Rate of Wage

As per RCW 39.12.015, 39.12.020 and WAC 296-127-011 and as was published on the internet on August 24, 2009, the industrial statistician has revised the statewide prevailing rates of wage. As per WAC 296-127-011 these rate revisions have been deemed an emergency by the director of the department and the revised rates will not have the established thirty day notification period. These prevailing rates of wage will be effective for public works projects bid on or after September 2, 2009.

Every contractor and subcontractor on every public works project must file a statement of intent to pay prevailing wages and an affidavit of wages paid. Both forms must be filed on every project. The filing of the affidavit of wages paid does not set aside the requirement to also file the statement of intent to pay prevailing wages. The department may fine contractors $500 for failure to file these forms.

For more information on prevailing wage or a copy of the rates please visit our web site at www.lni.wa.gov/TradesLicensing/PrevailingWage/ or call (360) 902-5335.

This memo supersedes and replaces the code reviser memo of August 3, 2009, that read:
