NOTICE
Title or Subject: Medicaid State Plan Amendments (SPAs) for Sole Community Hospital Payments.
Effective Date: January 1, 2015.
Description: The agency intends to submit the following medicaid SPAs to amend hospital payment methods to comply with state and federal rules and the state's 2013-2014 budget:
• | 14-0041 Inpatient Sole Community Hospital Payments – to increase payment rates for inpatient services by twenty-five percent effective January 1, 2015, for hospitals designated as a sole community hospital and meeting other criteria as designated by the legislature. Hospitals which participate in the state's certified public expenditure program will not [be] eligible for this increase. |
• | 14-0042 Outpatient Sole Community Hospital Payments – to increase payment rates for outpatient services by twenty-five percent effective January 1, 2015, for hospitals designated as a sole community hospital and meeting other criteria as designated by the legislature. |
• | 14-0043 Sole Community – Disproportionate Share Hospital (SC-DSH) Payments – to lower SC-DSH payments to $200,000 for the period of January 1 through June 30, 2015. |
The agency anticipates an increase of $947,000 in annual aggregate expenditures if these SPAs are approved by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
