Title: Policy #07-16-104A - Renewal Extension for Temporary Elevator Mechanic License (Category 09).
Date Issued: January 30, 2015.
Description: The purpose is to allow the renewal of temporary elevator mechanic licenses (category 09) to extend beyond two consecutive months and no more than six licenses issued in a twelve month period up to eighteen consecutive months and no more than eighteen licenses issued in an eighteen month period, due to an abnormally high rate of construction. WAC 296-96-00912(3) provides the department the authority to extend the limitations of renewal for temporary elevator mechanic licenses (category 09) at its discretion (e.g., abnormally high rate of construction, natural disaster or work stoppage).
Individuals must meet the licensing requirements to qualify for a renewal extension up to eighteen months for a temporary elevator mechanic license. The extension period will become effective January 1, 2015, and shall expire July 1, 2016, or until rescinded, modified or is withdrawn by the director or his or her designee.
