Reasons Why Rules on this Subject may be Needed and What They Might Accomplish: ESSB 5001 was passed and signed into law during the 2019 session. Licensing requirements to provide services for the two new disposition options, alkaline hydrolysis and natural organic reduction, will need to be outlined for licensees and potential licensees. Several sections will need housekeeping to remove redundancy and Title 98 WAC will be merged with Title 308 WAC to create one chapter to simplify rules for cemeteries and funeral establishments.
