     On page 3, line 27, after Amoving party.@ insert:

     A(9) In determining whether modification serves the best interests of the child for the purposes of this section, the court may consider whether the modification will serve the child=s interests in the long-term and whether the modification is based on a substantial change in circumstances that is temporary or may have a long-term, as opposed to an immediate, benefit, such as a parent=s return to school.@


 

 

 

 

EFFECT:  Explicitly allows the court, when making major and minor modifications to a parenting plan, to consider the child=s long-term interests and whether the substantial change in circumstances is temporary or has a long-term, as opposed to immediate, benefit.
