    On page 7, after line 3, insert the following:

    "NEW SECTION. Sec. 6.  This act is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, or safety, or support of the state government and its existing public institutions, and except for section 2 of this act takes effect immediately.  This act applies to surviving spouses and dependent children of emergency service personnel killed in the line of duty on or after January 1, 2001."

    Correct the title.
