   On page 20, line 14 of the amendment, after "district" insert ", unless the charter school board of directors and the exclusive bargaining representative of the charter school employees agree otherwise,"

   On page 20, line 22 of the amendment, after "district" insert ", unless the charter school board of directors and the exclusive bargaining representative of the charter school employees agree otherwise,"

   On page 20, at the beginning of line 27, insert "(c) For purposes of seniority and leave accrual, a charter school employee or a former charter school employee who joins the local school district bargaining unit may be given credit for the time employed by the charter school as if the employee was employed by the public school district."

EFFECT: Certificated employees of charter schools may be members of only a bargaining unit that is separate from the district bargaining unit for at least the first five years of the school's operation, unless the charter school board of directors and the bargaining representative agree otherwise. Certificated employees may be given credit for time employed by a charter school as if employed by the school district for purposes of seniority and leave accrual.
