EFFECT: For offenders classified as the highest risk to re-offend (Risk Management A and B) when released, the Department of Corrections is required to maintain that classification for the duration of the offender's community supervision. The additional supervision cost of $940,000 per biennium is offset by a reduction in the per-mile reimbursement rate for state employees using private motor vehicles from 48.5 cents per mile to 44 cents per mile.
