On page 6, after line 30, insert the following:
"NEW SECTION. Sec. 5 (1) The department of ecology shall expend
two million dollars to designate a total of four new sites for water
storage, two in western Washington and two in eastern Washington,
including but not limited to:
(a) Identification of proper sites for water storage;
(b) Development of plans for water storage at those sites; and
(c) Formulation of a preliminary design for the water storage
sites.
(2) The department of ecology shall also assess decommissioned mine
shafts for purposes of water storage."
Renumber the remaining sections consecutively and correct any internal references accordingly.
