    On page 2, line 5, after "select" strike "two" and insert "thirty-nine"

    On page 2, beginning on line 8, after "section." strike all material through "community." on line 11 and insert "The office of the superintendent of public instruction is encouraged to consider geographic diversity in selecting pilot projects."

EFFECT:  Increases the number of pilot projects from two to thirty-nine.  Removes the requirement that one of the selected projects be a currently operating program.  Encourages the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction to consider geographic diversity in selecting pilot projects.
