    On page 7, after line 17 of the striking amendment, insert the following:

    "(e) Beginning with the graduating class of 2019, each student must complete community service, to be explained and documented using the student's culminating project.  Parameters and requirements for the community service may be established only by a school district board of directors.  A student who has completed the community service requirement of a school district and transfers in the senior year to another school district is not required to complete additional community service under this section."

EFFECT:   Requires students to complete community service as a state high school graduation requirement, beginning with the class of 2019.  Stipulates that the parameters for community service are established only by a school board, and that students who complete the requirements in one school district but transfer to another district in their senior year are not required to complete additional community service as a state graduation requirement.
