SB 5939 - DIGEST

Creates a family medicine residency training grant program to increase: (1) The number of family medicine residency positions at community health centers; and

(2) The number of family medicine physicians working in underserved settings.

Requires the joint legislative audit and review committee to conduct a performance audit and evaluation of the grant program.

Imposes an additional tax of seven and one-half cents per pack on the sale, use, consumption, handling, possession, and distribution of cigarettes.

Creates the family medicine residency training account.
