SB 6235 - DIGEST

Prohibits a guardian from restricting an incapacitated person's right of communication, visitation, or interaction with other persons, including the right to receive visitors, telephone calls, or personal mail.

Requires a guardian to promptly notify an incapacitated person's closest relatives and any person designated by the incapacitated person to be notified, along with the appropriate contact information and upon the incapacitated person's knowledge of such circumstance and information, in the event the incapacitated person: (1) Has changed their residence;

(2) Is staying at a location other than his or her residence;

(3) Is admitted to a medical facility for emergency care in response to a life-threatening injury or medical conditions or for acute care; or

(4) Dies.
