    On page 5, beginning on line 9 of the amendment, strike all of subsection (9) and insert:

    "(9) Total appropriations for this program may not exceed one hundred fifty-six thousand dollars in the 2017-2019 biennium. From within the amount appropriated in the 2017-2019 biennium, the commission must issue grants totaling at least twenty thousand dollars in fiscal year 2018 and forty thousand dollars in fiscal year 2019 to state-certified creative district applicants, subject to an equal match with local funding. Beginning in the 2019-2021 biennium, it is the intent of the legislature that grants be at least forty thousand dollars each fiscal year."

    On page 5, beginning on line 12 of the amendment, after "Sec. 5." strike all material through "coordinator." on line 13 and insert "The commission must dedicate staff to the administration of the program including a coordinator, and administrative support as budget permits."

EFFECT:   Provides that the Arts Commission issue grants of no less than $20,000 in fiscal year 2018 and $40,000 in fiscal year 2019 to state-certified creative district applicants. Removes the prohibition on dedicating additional staff to the administration of the program beyond the coordinator.
