AN ACT Relating to use of cross-laminated timber for building construction; and adding a new section to chapter
19.27 RCW.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:
NEW SECTION. Sec. 1. A new section is added to chapter 19.27 RCW to read as follows:
(1) As used in this section, "cross-laminated timber products" means panels consisting of several layers of lumber boards stacked crosswise and glued or otherwise attached together.
(2) The building code council shall adopt rules for the use of cross-laminated timber products for residential and commercial building construction. Rules adopted for the use of cross-laminated timber products by the state building code council must consider applicable national and international standards.
