On page 4, after line 15, insert the following:

"(8) Beginning January 1, 2020, a person is exempt from any legal obligation to pay real property taxes due and payable under this section in excess of the amount under this section in the year following the year in which a claim is filed, and thereafter, if the person is a veteran of the armed forces of the United States entitled to and receiving compensation from the United States department of veterans affairs at a total disability rating for a service-connected disability."

EFFECT: Exempts veterans of the armed forces of the United States entitled to and receiving compensation from the United States Department of Veterans Affairs at a total disability rating for a service-connected disability from the increased levy rate, as provided in this bill.
