On page 18, after line 40, insert the following:

"NEW SECTION. Sec. 7. Except for ordinances adopted before January 1, 2021, a local government may only adopt ordinances that provide requirements for terminating a residential tenancy for cause if such ordinances are consistent with and comply with this act."

Renumber the remaining section consecutively and correct any internal references accordingly.

EFFECT: Authorizes local governments to adopt ordinances providing causes to terminate a residential tenancy only if in compliance with the bill, with the exception of ordinances adopted before January 1, 2021.
