On page 8, after line 11, insert the following:
"NEW SECTION. Sec. 9. Sections 6 and 7 of this act take effect July 1, 2025."

EFFECT: Extends the time period for a newly hired law enforcement officer to complete an associate of arts or science degree from two years after completion of BLEA to three years. Provides an implementation date of July 1, 2025, for the Washington State Patrol.
