PREPROPOSAL STATEMENT OF INQUIRY

GAMBLING COMMISSION

[ Filed July 29, 2004, 9:25 a.m. ]

Subject of Possible Rule Making: Card rooms.

Statutes Authorizing the Agency to Adopt Rules on this Subject: RCW 9.46.070.

Reasons Why Rules on this Subject may be Needed and What They Might Accomplish: We anticipate the commission will adopt a rule change at the August 2004 commission meeting to no longer require poker games to use logo cards. In conjunction with the change, it is recommended that dealers also verify the value and suit of each card in the deck of winning hands, under surveillance.
