Title of Rule and Other Identifying Information: WAC 246-919-600 Prescriptions.
THIS RULE IS BEING PROPOSED UNDER AN EXPEDITED RULE-MAKING PROCESS THAT WILL ELIMINATE THE NEED FOR THE AGENCY TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARINGS, PREPARE A SMALL BUSINESS ECONOMIC IMPACT STATEMENT, OR PROVIDE RESPONSES TO THE CRITERIA FOR A SIGNIFICANT LEGISLATIVE RULE. Purpose of the Proposal and Its Anticipated Effects, Including Any Changes in Existing Rules: WAC 246-919-600 Prescriptions, is being proposed as an expedited repeal because it is duplicative of other rules and statutes by the Board of Pharmacy, WAC 246-887-045 Pharmacy -- Regulations implementing the Uniform Controlled Substances Act. This proposal to repeal will eliminate redundancy and will clarify the Board of Pharmacy's authority in the area of prescriptions.
Reasons Supporting Proposal: Eliminating duplication will ensure that licensees will follow the most specific rules related to prescriptions.
Statutory Authority for Adoption: RCW 18.71.017.
Statute Being Implemented: Chapter 18.71 RCW.
Rule is not necessitated by federal law, federal or state court decision.
