Purpose: The proposed rule states that the exemptions and extensions provided for the professional educator standards board in WAC 181-01-001 through 181-01-003, shall be the sole exceptions to the WEST-B and WEST-E assessment requirements.

Appeals process.
The Washington
professional educator standards board may permit exceptions
from the assessment requirements under RCW 28A.410.220 (1) and
(2) on a case-by-case basis. Consistent with the discretion
accorded to the professional educator standards board in RCW 28A.410.220(3), the exemptions and extensions provided for in
WAC 181-01-001 through 181-01-003, shall be the sole
exceptions to the WEST-B and WEST-E assessment requirements.
