     Subject of Possible Rule Making: Chapter 392-143 WAC, Transportation -- Specifications for school buses.

     Statutes Authorizing the Agency to Adopt Rules on this Subject: RCW 46.61.380.

     Reasons Why Rules on this Subject may be Needed and What They Might Accomplish: The proposed amendment to this chapter will eliminate the requirement of a weight slip being provided to the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction prior to the issuance of an operation permit. This amendment will be a cost-savings benefit to all school districts and educational service districts.
