] Prior to drafting a state petition to protect roadless
areas in national forest lands, governor's staff and agency
representatives are hosting two informal workshops to provide
background information on Washington's roadless areas and to
receive written public comment on how these areas should be
managed. No testimony will be taken at these workshops;
participants are encouraged to review the information
presented and provide written comments to staff during the
