Referendum to Implement ESB 6661 - Washington Beer Commission
Under ESB 6661, section 5, chapter 330, Laws of 2006, a
referendum of affected beer producers was conducted to
determine whether to implement ESB 6661 and to determine
producer participation in the Washington beer commission and
assessment under this chapter. The referendum was certified on September 13, 2006, as
follows:

Based on section 5 of the act, the percentages to pass a
referendum on establishing the Washington beer commission and
beer producer assessment are: 1. Of those producers eligible to vote, at least 51
percent by number of those voting must vote "yes"; AND
2. Of those producers eligible to vote, at least 30
percent by number and at least 30 percent by volume of
production must be represented in the referendum.
The referendum passed.
