The WSRC is a group of sixteen volunteers. We are appointed by the governor to make sure that the division of vocational rehabilitation (DVR), a service system that assists people with disabilities to go to work, is succeeding in helping its customers to overcome barriers to employment. We do this by evaluating program and performance data, considering systemic trends, assessing customer satisfaction, asking questions, and making policy recommendations. To learn more about our work visit www.wastrehabcouncil.org.
Highlights of the July 17 meeting agenda:
• | Continue to follow progress on the state plan that DVR submitted to the rehabilitation services administration. The plan will guide how DVR delivers service for the next three years. The council will focus on whether the final draft reflects public input and will determine how the WSRC will track the division's progress on implementing the plan. |
• | Discuss DVR's placement in the DSHS organizational structure. |
• | Learn more about a proposed "rapid rehabilitation" model that DVR may implement with Recovery Act monies. |
