PREPROPOSAL STATEMENT OF INQUIRY

HEALTH CARE AUTHORITY


(Community Health Services)

[ Order 09-04 -- Filed November 18, 2009, 9:32 a.m. ]

     Subject of Possible Rule Making: The health care authority (HCA) plans to amend chapter 182-20 WAC, Community health services, WAC 182-20-100 Administration and 182-20-160 Eligibility, to reflect changes in the language to include tribal governments.

     Statutes Authorizing the Agency to Adopt Rules on this Subject: RCW 41.05.160, 41.05.220, and 41.05.230.

     Reasons Why Rules on this Subject may be Needed and What They Might Accomplish: Amendment of rules is needed to incorporate changes made by the Centennial Accord and HCA administrative policy. Rules are expected to clarify the administration of the community health services (CHS) grant program and define eligibility requirements.

     Other Federal and State Agencies that Regulate this Subject and the Process Coordinating the Rule with These Agencies: None.

     Process for Developing New Rule: CHS rule making.
