Lowering of the Washington State and United States Flags
I join the President of the United States in honoring
Dorothy Height, a founding matriarch of the American civil
rights movement, by directing that Washington State and United
States flags at all state agency facilities be lowered to
half-staff Thursday, April 29, 2010, in her memory. She died
April 20 at age 98. Please notify your staff and all of your field offices
and facilities around the state.
Flags should remain at half-staff until close of business
Thursday, or first thing Friday morning, April 30.
Other government entities, citizens and businesses are
encouraged to join this recognition.
Please call (360) 902-0383 if you have any questions
about this flag lowering.
Christine O. Gregoire
