PREPROPOSAL STATEMENT OF INQUIRY

WASHINGTON STATE PATROL

[ Filed July 30, 2010, 10:11 a.m. ]

Subject of Possible Rule Making: Description of fire marshal's office.

Statutes Authorizing the Agency to Adopt Rules on this Subject: None.

Reasons Why Rules on this Subject may be Needed and What They Might Accomplish: WAC chapter was developed in the early 1970's to provide a description and organization overview of the state fire marshal's office. Since its adoption, the state fire marshal's office has changed agencies three times and the WAC no longer is based on current statutory authority. The proposal is to repeal this WAC chapter.

Process for Developing New Rule: Agency review.

Interested parties can participate in the decision to adopt the new rule and formulation of the proposed rule before publication by contacting Ms. Anjela St. John, State Fire Marshal's Office, P.O. Box 42600, Olympia, WA 98504, Anjela.stjohn@wsp.wa.gov, (360) 596-3903.
