Subject of Possible Rule Making: Mandatory on-line licensing for certain licenses.

     Statutes Authorizing the Agency to Adopt Rules on this Subject: RCW 48.15.015 and 48.17.005.

     Reasons Why Rules on this Subject may be Needed and What They Might Accomplish: The insurance commissioner's office has offered applicants for new and renewal insurance producer licenses the option to apply on-line for several years. The process has improved the efficiency of the state insurance producer licensing process and made it more accessible for all parties. Through this rule making, the commissioner will consider establishing electronic licensing as the exclusive process for licensing transactions relating to certain licenses issued by the office.
