Subject of Possible Rule Making: Amend WAC 479-14-011 and chapter 479-10 WAC where appropriate and develop new WACs necessary to implement the arterial preservation program.

     Statutes Authorizing the Agency to Adopt Rules on this Subject: RCW 47.26.084 [(1)](c).

     Reasons Why Rules on this Subject may be Needed and What They Might Accomplish: Chapter 367, Laws of 2011 (uncodified) provided funds through the highway safety account to help cities meet urgent preservation needs. The amended and new rules would establish city and project eligibility, determine match, if any, and provide a framework for application requirements and construction timeline.
