INTERPRETIVE OR POLICY STATEMENT

In accordance with RCW 34.05.230(12), following is a list of policy and interpretive statements issued by the department of social and health services.

Document Title: Public Notice.

Subject: Change to COPES waiver.

Effective Date: January 1, 2014.

Document Description: Home and community services, a division of aging and long-term supports administration, intends to submit a waiver application with the federal Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) for the community options program entry system (COPES) waiver (WA# 0049). The application is to renew the waiver which is set to expire March 31, 2014. The renewal will include some changes to the existing waiver which include clarifications to the definition for caregiver/recipient (C/R) training and specialized medical equipment/supplies; new types of personal emergency response system equipment, additional provider types for C/R training services and revision of some performance measures.
