NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The insurance commissioner or his delegate will receive testimony from the public in regard to the coverage of mental health services by health benefit plan issuers in Washington state. The testimony will be used to assist the commissioner in drafting proposed rule text to implement and clarify mental health parity requirements in Washington state.

The scope of the anticipated testimony includes access to mental health services based on either coverage exclusions or claims adjudication practices, type of and number of mental health providers available to provide services, specific types of mental health services needed, and which provider practices can offer them, and other issues and concerns.
