Title or Subject: Medicaid State Plan Amendment (SPA) 14-0012.

Effective Date: January 1, 2014.

Description: The health care authority intends to submit medicaid SPA 14-0012 to limit the type of services for which it will pursue estate recovery to those required under federal regulations, i.e. long-term care (LTC) services, and the hospital and prescription drug costs associated with those LTC services, provided to those age fifty-five or older. This SPA is expected to have no impact on annual aggregate expenditures; it will result in the loss of approximately $2 million, however, in the next fiscal year that will no longer be subject to estate recovery.
