In accordance with RCW 34.05.230(12), following is a list of policy and interpretive statements issued by the department of social and health services.

Document Title: Public notice.

Subject: Establishment of new 1915(c) waiver, enhanced residential services waiver.

Effective Date: June 1, 2014.

Document Description: HCS intends to submit a waiver application to the federal Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) to establish a new waiver called enhanced residential services. The goal of this new waiver is to provide residential supports to adults who are eligible for nursing facility level of care and are relocating from a psychiatric hospital. These adults have a need for enhanced residential services that provide behavioral supports, personal care assistance, and supervision related to mental health disorders, chemical dependency disorders, traumatic brain injuries and/or cognitive/developmental impairments. The waiver will provide a home and community based licensed facility option for receipt of services rather than a nursing facility or other more restrictive setting such as a psychiatric hospital.
