Title or Subject: Public Notice – Medicaid State Plan Amendment 14-0017.

Effective Date: July 1, 2014.

Description: The health care authority (the agency) intends to submit Medicaid State Plan Amendment 14-0017 to amend hospital outpatient payment methods to comply with state and federal rules and the state's 2013-2015 budget. The agency will change the software used for outpatient hospital claims from the ambulatory payment classification (APC) to the enhanced ambulatory patient grouping (EAPG) software. This change will include updates to the payment methods and policies regarding outpatient hospital rates and claim payments. This is a budget neutral change with no expected increase to annual aggregate expenditures.
