The Washington State Bar Association having recommended the expeditious adoption of the Proposed New Comment 18 to RPC 1.2 Scope of Representation and Allocation of Authority Between the Client and Lawyer, and the Court having considered the amendments and comments submitted thereto, and having determined that the proposed amendments will aid in the prompt and orderly administration of justice; Now, therefore, it is hereby ORDERED: (a) That the amendments as shown below are adopted.
(b) That the amendments will be published in the Washington Reports and will become effective upon publication. DATED at Olympia, Washington this 6th day of November, 2014.

[18] At least until there is a change in federal enforcement policy, a lawyer may counsel a client regarding the validity, scope, and meaning of Washington Initiative 502 (Chap. 3, Laws of 2013) and may assist a client in conduct that the lawyer reasonably believes is permitted by this statute and the other statutes, regulations, orders and other state and local provisions implementing them.
