Title or Subject: Medicaid State Plan Amendment (SPA) 15-0038 Payment Methodology for Codes related to Long Acting Reversible Contraceptives (LARC).

Effective Date: September 1, 2015.

Description: The health care authority (the agency) anticipates submitting medicaid SPA 15-0038 to allow payment of enhanced rates for codes directly related to implant or insertion of LARCs.

The agency anticipates increasing the fee amounts for these procedure codes in order to improve access to LARCs.

The estimated increase in aggregate expenditures is $7.2 million per annum.

The SPA is in the development process; therefore a copy is not yet available for review.
