Under RCW 34.05.230, following is a policy and interpretive statement issued by the department of labor and industries regarding the boiler program.

Title: 2015-1: Procedure for Suspension or Revocation of an Inspector's Commission.
Date Issued: October 1, 2015.
Description: This new policy provides the progressive procedures for suspension, revocation, and reinstatement of an inspector's Washington state commission. The purpose of this policy is to ensure uniformity and consistency in managing corrective actions for inspectors that commit a first offense violation(s) and investigation process for violations that may warrant the suspension or revocation of an inspector's Washington state commission.
This policy applies to all inspectors and authorized inspection agencies (AIA) (RCW 70.79.100 through 70.79.130). If the department finds reason to believe an inspector has violated the boiler and unfired pressure vessel laws chapters 70.79 RCW and/or 296-104 WAC and/or caused imminent danger to the public; the department will execute the procedures outlined in this policy.
