Title or Subject: Medicaid State Plan Amendment (SPA) 17-0001.

Effective Date: January 1, 2017.

Description: The health care authority (the agency) intends to submit medicaid SPA 17-0001 to maintain standards for medicaid programs that are based on the federal benefit rate (FBR). The annual FBR amount is based in part on cost-of-living adjustment, which increased by 0.3 percent for calendar year 2017. Due to an increase in FBR, income and resource eligibility standards for medicaid programs that are based on FBR must also increase in accordance with federal requirements.

SPA 17-0001 is expected to have no impact on annual aggregate expenditures; it will not affect services or provider payments.

A copy of SPA 17-0001 is available for review. The agency would appreciate any input or concerns regarding this SPA.
