Title or Subject: Medicaid State Plan Amendments (SPA) for 2017 Fee Schedule Updates.

Effective Dates: Anticipated January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1, 2017.

Description: The health care authority (the agency) typically updates the fee schedules for many of its medicaid programs and services on one or more of the following dates each year: January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1. These are regular updates to keep rates and billing codes in alignment with the coding and coverage changes from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), medicaid, and other sources. These changes are routine and do not reflect significant changes to policy or payment. The agency intends to submit one or more medicaid SPAs in 2017 to update the effective dates of the fee schedules for the following programs in the medicaid state plan:

The agency is in the process of drafting SPA 17-0004 to reflect January 1, 2017, fee schedule updates; a copy will be provided on request as soon as it becomes available. Future SPAs will be developed as each update becomes due, and copies may be requested as soon as they are available.

These fee schedule updates are budget neutral and are not anticipated to have an effect on providers' annual expenditures.
