Document Title: Public Notice.
Subject: Residential support waiver (RSW) renewal.
Effective Date: January 1, 2019.
Document Description: The agency and ALTSA intend to submit an application for renewal of the RSW, WA.1086. The renewal application, once approved, will allow the state to continue to provide RSW services to eligible persons. The effective date of the waiver renewal is expected to be January 1, 2019.
The RSW has been in effect since August 1, 2014. For waiver year 2017-2018, this waiver is authorized to serve up to two thousand participants. An important element of the state's commitment to provide alternatives to institutional care, this waiver provides community-based residential services and supports to adults who are ready to relocate from a state or community psychiatric hospital to a community setting and/or need additional support to address complex behavior. This waiver serves individuals who have a need for residential services that provide behavioral supports, personal care assistance, and supervision.
The state is proposing the following changes in the RSW renewal application:
