WSR 18-11-016 EMERGENCY RULES DEPARTMENT OF FISH AND WILDLIFE [Order 18-87—Filed May 3, 2018, 3:36 p.m., effective June 1, 2018] Effective Date of Rule: June 1, 2018. Purpose: Amends recreational fishing rules for the Hoh River. Citation of Rules Affected by this Order: Repealing WAC 220-312-02000A and 220-312-02000B; and amending WAC 220-312-020. Under RCW 34.05.350 the agency for good cause finds that immediate adoption, amendment, or repeal of a rule is necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety, or general welfare, and that observing the time requirements of notice and opportunity to comment upon adoption of a permanent rule would be contrary to the public interest. Reasons for this Finding: This emergency rule is necessary to correct the area description in WSR 18-10-072 filed on April 30, 2018. There is insufficient time to adopt permanent rules. WAC 220-312-02000B Freshwater exceptions to statewide rules—Coast.
Notwithstanding the provisions of WAC 220-312-02000Y and WAC 220-312-020, effective June 1 through June 30, 2018:
Hoh River from the Olympic National Park boundary upstream to the boat launch at the DNR's Oxbow Campground:
(1) Salmon open June 1 through June 30, 2018:
(a) Daily limit 1, minimum length 12 inches.
(b) Release all salmon other than hatchery Chinook.
(2) Gamefish open June 1 through June 30, 2018:
(a) Trout: daily limit 2, minimum length 14 inches.
(b) Release wild rainbow trout and wild steelhead.
(3) Only 1 barbless hook may be used.
(4) Bait is prohibited.
