Purpose of the Proposal and Its Anticipated Effects, Including Any Changes in Existing Rules: The purpose of the proposed amendment to WAC 357-31-805 is to correct what documentation an employee seeking shared leave under the veterans' in-state service shared leave pool is required to submit.
Reasons Supporting Proposal: A current member would not have a "DD Form 214" therefore other forms of documentation need to be allowed.

41.04 RCW.
Rule is not necessitated by federal law, federal or state court decision.

WAC 357-31-805What documentation may an employee seeking shared leave under the veterans' in-state service shared leave pool be required to submit?
Employees seeking shared leave under the veterans' in-state service shared leave pool must provide a veterans affairs benefits summary letter from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and a copy of "DD Form 214" or a letter from their command indicating the employee is a current member of the uniformed services and verifying that:
(1) The employee ((has))is attending medical appointments or treatments for a service connected injury or disability including U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs compensation and pension examinations; or
(2) The employee is a spouse of a veteran who requires assistance while attending medical appointments or treatments for a service connected injury or disability including U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs compensation and pension examinations.
