Subject of Possible Rule Making: Chapter 392-139 WAC, Finance—Maintenance and operation levies.
Reasons Why Rules on this Subject may be Needed and What They Might Accomplish: The passage of EHB 2242 in the summer of 2017 drastically changes the office of superintendent of public instruction's (OSPI) process and calculations in determining maximum school district levies in 2019 and going forward. OSPI is considering rule changes that will create alignment with the revised statutes.
Process for Developing New Rule: Early solicitation of public comments and recommendations respecting new, amended, or repealed rules and consideration of the comments and recommendations in the course of drafting rules.
