NOTICE
Subject: Medicaid State Plan Amendment (SPA) 19-0025 Community Hospital Long-Term Inpatient Psychiatric Services Rates.
Effective Date: July 1, 2019.
Description: The health care authority (HCA) intends to submit medicaid SPA 19-0025 in order to comply with ESHB 1109. This bill sets rates for community hospitals serving medicaid clients in long-term inpatient care beds as defined in RCW
71.24.025 at $1171 per day or the hospital's current psychiatric per diem rate, whichever is higher, not to exceed one hundred percent of the hospital's eligible costs.
SPA 19-0025 is expected to increase the annual aggregate payments for inpatient psychiatric services for qualifying hospitals by $23,507,000 for state fiscal year 2020.
SPA 19-0025 is in the development process; therefore a copy is not yet available for review. HCA would appreciate any input or concerns regarding this SPA.
