Other Possible Rule-Making Topics
In addition to the rules referenced above, the commissioner continues his effort to update and clarify code, as well as implement recent legislation. A potential list of subjects that may be considered for future rule making include or may include:
Prompt response requirement: Amend rule to clarify the office of the insurance commissioner inquiry responses.
Actuarial update: Pair rule with associated manual.
Coordination of benefits: Address primary and secondary plans and allowable expenses.
Drug substitution and adverse benefit appeals: Review levels of appeals.
Administrative hearing rules: Modify technical language.
Essential health benefits (pediatric dental): Modify technical language.
Preventative service coverage: Clarify preventative services without enrollee cost-sharing.
Biographical affidavits: Remedy duplicative processes.
Appointment and affiliation term length: Review appointments, affiliations and renewal guidelines.
Indemnity requirements for limited health care service contractor: Provide guidance for requirements.
Risk mitigation: Modify limit amount.
IRO fee schedule: Evaluate fees.
