Notice of Interpretive or Policy Statement
In accordance with RCW
34.05.230(12), following is a list of policy and interpretive statements issued by the department of social and health services.
Aging and Long Term Support Administration (ALTSA)
Division of Home and Community Services (HCS)
Document Title: Public Notice.
Subject: New eligibility group added to the COPES, new freedom, and residential support waiver programs.
Effective Date: January 1, 2020.
Document Description: Health care authority and ALTSA intend to submit waiver amendment applications for the COPES, new freedom, and residential support waiver programs to add a new eligibility group which qualifies for the programs due to changes in eligibility to the apple health for workers with disabilities (HWD) program. The new eligibility group allows workers with disabilities who are age sixty-five or older to buy into medicaid under the Balanced Budget Act of 1997 (BBA) working disabled group as provided in 1902 (a)(10)(A)(ii)(XIII) of the Social Security Act. This eligibility group allows working individuals with disabilities to qualify for the state plan medical and waiver programs. The effective date of this change will be January 1, 2020.
