Title or Subject: Medicaid State Plan Amendment (SPA) 20-0038 Recovery Audit Contractors.

Effective Date: October 1, 2020.

Description: The health care authority (HCA) intends to submit medicaid SPA 20-0038 in order to request a full exception to establish a medicaid recovery audit contractor program. HCA believes it has appropriate resources in place to identify and recover improper payments related to medicaid fraud, waste, and abuse.

SPA 20-0038 is expected to have no effect on the annual aggregate expenditures/reimbursement/payment for identifying and recovering improper payments related to medicaid fraud, waste, and abuse.

SPA 20-0038 is available for review. HCA would appreciate any input or concerns regarding this SPA.
